Blogmas - December 25: Merry Christmas!!

Today was another busy day for me. I worked on soap and making labels and packaging and labeling soap that wasn't ready to package for Mom to package and label once it's ready. I also took some time to take pictures of some more noteworthy soaps that I knew I would want to write about eventually. I know I won't have time to post anything while here, but I'll have a bit of free time once over yonder and I'll want something to do during my scheduled down time over there. :)

My sister and I watched some more behind the scenes The Hobbit stuff. I can appreciate some of the choices Peter Jackson made in the movie series a bit more now, but I still maintain that The Lord of the Rings is a much better series. Maybe it's because of the nostalgia factor. Maybe it's because I know the stuff they did instead of constant CGI will stand the test of time better.
At one point M told me he had gifted me Portal 2 on Steam, so we co-op played that for a good few hours, until I had to eat and he wanted to get ready for bed. I really liked the original Portal game so to finally play Portal 2 was awesome in every way. Except for the fact that M and I are horrible at communicating and end up getting mad at each other for not being mind readers. :) Getting him to sleep was another nightmare as he's like a little kid who wants to keep talking and interacting even though you can tell he's very tired and dropping off even as he speaks. I think he misses me. =P
After M went to bed I took some time to clean the car. I've been wanting to do this since we got here. I would not have felt right leaving a messy car with my parents for a couple years expecting them to clean the mess. It was a simple clean, vacuum, throw trash, and wipe down surfaces, but it made a world of difference. I managed to finish that before the sun set and took some time to eat and chitchat with my sister.
Later I went through all of my bags and double checked weights and dimensions and contents to make sure they would be okay for travel. I much prefer being able to double and triple check stuff over scrambling at the last minute, so this was nice to do. I threw on some last Vlogmas videos while doing this. Mom called right about when I finished so I spent a good hour or two talking to her, Dad, my brother, and the family they went to visit. It was fun. Their internet connection isn't the best so we couldn't Facetime or anything, so that kind of sucked. I've grown used to using some form of video calling to get in touch with family. It's what M and I've been doing! I realize how spoiled by technology I sound, but dangit this is 2015! And America! We don't call. We videocall or text. No old fashioned phonecalls to a landline!
Now my sister and I are going to watch some Christmas movies to have something today that resembles the Christmas spirit. We had some Christmas flavored coffees but besides that nothing special. Not even a turkey!

And this concludes my Blogmas posts! I've very much enjoyed doing this and reading Deb's posts every evening. I look forward to next year, where Julie will hopefully join us!! *nudge nudge*
I'm going to continue doing daily dairies or journals or something, I just don't know what to call them. I really like getting to sit down at the end of the day and talk about what I did. It's been a wonder to look back on my month and see what I've done each day.

Have you become spoiled by modern technology?

  1. I resist technology, and I'm coming to realize it's a losing battle. I don't even have a debit card!

I'm sad and relieved that Blogmas is over. I'm still wondering what I want to do on the blog. People tell me to keep the Natters posts coming because they like them. We'll see.

At least YOU have exciting times ahead!!

  2. Happy holidays, Liz! I am always a little suspicious of technology, I have been resisting doing mobile banking, prefering to go direct to the bank or the ATM machines. But I fear it's a losing battle!
