Haul: Lush Korea February 2016

Heeeey. Remember in my last haul how I said I was good on Lush for a while. Oops. LOL

I actually knew that this purchase was coming up the next time we went to Itaewon. My shampoo and conditioner has been getting low and I've wanted to switch to something less chemical-ey as my scalp as been giving me issues. I figured why not try Lush?

Veganese Hair Conditioner: "Vegans and fine haired folks around the world rejoice! Veganese is our lightest, conditioner that takes hair without volume and makes it go va-va-VOOM! The majority of LUSH products are vegan, but making a vegan conditioner without lanolin took us a few years to perfect. It was worth the wait. We use agar seaweed gel as a natural hair softener instead of lanolin, and blend in generous helpings of lemon oil to create the perfect vegan conditioner to leave you with tons of gloss and shine. We also added in the scalp soothing effects of lavender and rosemary to keep you sorted on top."
This has a nice, soft lemon scent and a very clean texture. I'm not going to comment on how it works yet as I want to wait until I've used a bit more of the bottle, first. I can say that I feel like I don't have to use as much conditioner with this, though. One 500g bottle was 41,900W, or $34 USD.

Curly Wurly Coconut Shampoo: "Curly hair needs lots of moisturizing, especially those dry, frizzy ends. You’re in luck! Curly Wurly shampoo keeps unruly and out-of-control curls soft, shiny and bouncy. How does it do it? It's packed full of creamed coconut and coconut oil to moisturize dry, frizzy hair, and protein-rich fresh eggs and hand mashed avocado butter to hydrate, add shine and eliminate frizz. Fresh, nutritious ingredients work wonders for frizzy hair. Give it a Wurl!"

This is another one that I won't fully comment on until I have some more experience with it under the belt, but be warned. There are actual coconut shavings here, and some people have issues with getting it out of their hair. I didn't notice any shavings in my hair after a good rinse so it was a non issue for me. This 220g pot cost 33,000W, or $27 USD.

Bubblegum Lip Scrub: "Our sweetest confection exfoliates lips smooth, prepping them for your favorite lip color or balm. A blend of exfoliating fair trade sugar and moisturizing jojoba oil, this lip scrub is sure to leave those kissers enticingly soft and satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time! Scrub Bubblegum over your lips (be sure to lick off the delicious excess) and then apply your favorite lip color for a flawless finish."

I'm making the effort to make a separate post about this product, as I have a lot to say about it. The short hand is it's nice, but not worth the price. This 25g pot cost 15,700W, or about $13 USD. On the US site it goes for $9.95, but even that isn't worth it. Search the ingredients and make this stuff yourself. Minus Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone.

This was my freebie for this visit! Saponé noticed that I picked up the bubblegum lip scrub and grabbed this for me! :D

Godmother Soap: This is a discontinued soap, but there is still a significant amount available at the store in Itaewon. It's sold out online, though. I couldn't find any product description, but Godmother is basically Snow Fairy in soap bar form. I pick up the bubblegum note here, and now see why it is a very polarizing scent for people. I've personally not noticed the bubblegum note before, but in soap form this seems like a very nice scent.

Now is where I feel a little bad because I can't fully remember the details on these lovely pins. Saponé explained to me that Korea's Lush Membership has changed a little and that you get these pins as you make purchases... and you bring them back during Korea-only sales or special events like your birthday and get a discount? Something like that? Or maybe the pins are silly extras and just symbolize the amount you will get off when you shop at a sale?? I don't know, I will have to ask her to explain again the next time we visit. Because we will of course have to visit again :).

Thus concludes this Lush haul. Now we will definitely not be buying any more unless we run out of my shampoo/conditioner (and I like it enough to want to buy more) or M needs some more of his stuff. He's extremely happy with his body scrub and conditioners and has eliminated all skin itchiness and dryness.

Have you ever used any of these products? What did you think of it?

  1. Curly Wurly! I used that before. And R&B too which smells insanely good by the way. The coconut didn't bother me either, though a piece or two was always lurking somewhere in my Hagrid-like mane. The Bubblegum lip scrub was a no-go for me too. Ew. Those pins!!!!! How cool! And even that they have sales! The only Lush sale I ever heard of was Boxing Day! Killer!!

    1. I made the mistake of not asking for details on these sales Saponé had talked about! Next time! Because let's face it - there WILL be a next time!
The downside to Korea doing their own Lush sales is they don't really do the sales we're familiar with, like Boxing Day. Bummer, but if they have other sales throughout the year I guess I'm okay with it :)
