Sniff My Tarts - Cotton Candy/Sweet Lavender/Strawberry & Kiwi

Scent Description: Fresh strawberry, sugar, sweet vanilla/none available/strawberry and kiwi.

Date Received: March 7, 2016

Weight Melted: 1.0 oz

Location of Warmer: Kitchen, in tealight warmer

Cold Sniff: 5/5 This blend took one of my favorite blends, lavender & cotton candy, and added in a fruity aspect. The strawberry & kiwi adds just a little bite to my beloved blend, brightening it up and dulling the lavender so that even a lavender hater would like this. :)

Warm Sniff: 5/5 No real surprises once melted. The entire mix blended together seamlessly, making it hard to tell one note from another on passing sniff.

Scent Strength: 1.5/3

Scent Throw: 3/3 This filled the entire kitchen/dining area, hallway, and kitchen.

Melting Power: 4/5 I got about 7.5 hours from half a chunk.

Repurchase: Yes! I decided to sit out the most recent SMT custom opening, but I definitely plan on picking up more of this blend the next time I partake.

Vintage Chic Scents - Snow White's Curse

Scent Description: Mac apple lollipops bubblegum cotton candy frosting.

Date Poured: February 4, 2016

Weight Melted: 0.9 oz

Location of Warmer: Kitchen, in tealight warmer

Cold Sniff: 3.5/5 Very sweet cotton candy gum mixed with a healthy dose of apples. I didn't choose this; M asked for apples. Nonetheless, I quite enjoyed it.

Warm Sniff: 3/5 Primarily an apple scent. There's a backdrop of sweet candy in the background taking a bit of the bite off of the apple.

Scent Strength: 1/3

Scent Throw: 3/3 This filled the entire kitchen/dining area, hallway, and office.

Melting Power: 3/5 I got about 4.5 hours from a quarter of a poinsetta.

Repurchase: No. I'm not much of an apple fan, and the scent didn't last as long as I expect from my tarts.

Stop & Chat: July Rambles

A lot and yet so very little has happened in the past two-ish weeks. The heat has really gotten to me, and the computer is such a heat sync the office is unbearable during normal waking hours. As I sit here typing, I'm developing a layer of sweat. With fans we still cannot get the air from our AC units to circulate the house effectively. The locations of outlets aren't very well placed for good house circulation. The end result is I tend to hole myself up in the bedroom for most of the daylight hours. We've taken to turning on the living room AC for an hour at a time, and it helps a little, but having it on during the hottest parts of the day is a losing battle. The moment the AC is turned off the house jumps up 4 degrees Celsius. Keeping the AC on is what killed our electricity bill, so I instead opt to hide in the bedroom with the more energy efficient AC unit.

L3 Waxy Wonders - Lock Shock and Barrel

Scent Description: Sweet tarts, taffy, lollipops and frosting.

Weight Melted: 0.9 oz

Location of Warmer: Kitchen, in tealight warmer

Cold Sniff: 4/5 A pleasant sweet candy scent. This scent would actually be perfect for Halloween!

Warm Sniff: 4/5 No real surprises here. A sweet ever so slightly fizzy candy scent.

Scent Strength: 1.5/3

Scent Throw: 2/3 This filled the kitchen/dining room, some of the hallway, and part of the office.

Melting Power: 3/5 I got about 5 hours of scent from two cubes.

Repurchase: Probably not. It's nothing super special in the scent department and it didn't throw all that far. I have plenty of other candy-esque scents I can reach for.

My Current Wax Stash & Storage

It's about time I posted my stash and storage, isn't it? Now that I've got the house to a state of cleanliness that doesn't leave me stressed and my wax is nice and organized, I can finally share it with you guys!

I may also have been inspired when a certain someone admitted to wanting to peek into my drawers on a villa tour video I did. :) Anyways, let's get to it!

Beezy Tarts - Lemon Poppy Seed Pound Cake

Scent Description: Top notes of Candied Lime savors, Lemon syrup, and Bergamot extract; followed by middle notes of Poppyseed muffin, Brown Sugar, and Clove Bud; sitting on base notes of Marshmallow Fluff, Vanilla Cake Batter, and White Musk.

Date Received: May 17, 2016

Weight Melted: 0.9 oz

Location of Warmer: Kitchen, in tealight warmer

Cold Sniff: 3/5 A very fizzy lemon scent. I go back and forth on lemon scents, so it takes a very particular kind of mood for me to pull this scent out. In my initial haul post I mentioned that I could not pick up on the pound cake. On second sniff, I can say I do, in fact pick up on it, but it's still very faint.

Warm Sniff: 4/5 A bit less fizz and a lot more creaminess. Incredibly lemony, but very delicious!

Scent Strength: 3/3 "Liz, what are you baking?"
"Nothing."
"Why do I smell lemon cake?"
"Wax."
"Your wax gives me false hopes and dreams."

Scent Throw: >3/3 This filled the kitchen/dining area, hallway, office, entryway, and some of the living room.

Melting Power: 4/5 I got about 7 hours of scent from half a tart cup before switching out the scent. I probably could have gone for longer, but I was desperate for a more calming scent after the assault that this was.

Repurchase: Yes! I may try and blend this with softer scents in the future, but it's quite a pleasant lemon scent!

Glitterati - Cucumber Blonde Moment

Scent Description: None available/a pink champagne cocktail of sweet raspberries and tart cranberries.

Date Received: June 22, 2016

Weight Melted: 0.6 oz

Location of Warmer: Kitchen, in tealight warmer

Cold Sniff: 4/5 A fruity, fresh take on the typically sweet and fizzy nature of blonde moment. No fizz here!

Warm Sniff: 4/5 No surprises here! Still a delectable blend without that fizzy note and without being too sweet.

Scent Strength: 2/3

Scent Throw: >3/3 This filled the entire kitchen/dining area, hallway, office, entryway, and most of the living room. In short, it threw quite far!

Melting Power: 5/5 I got about 10 hours from the little chunk I melted, and it probably could have lasted longer if I'd pushed it.

Repurchase: Yes! I'm so glad I got this as a sample and have melted it once more since the first time I melted it! This will (if I remember) be on my 2016 customs list!

Stop & Chat: July 10-13

*tour guide voice* Above you can see our new baby Giganotosaurus, hatched by the Sky tribe! This was one of three baby "gigas" hatched recently by one of the caretakers (*cough*me*cough*), and we hope it will grow to  big bigger and stronger than its parents!

One of my late nights was spent hatching a bunch of dino eggs on Ark and this was one of those baby dinos. Don't worry about that weird hump in its back; it goes away as it grows up.

Sniff My Tarts - Pink Noel/Sweet Lavender/Marshmallow Cake

Scent Description: "SMT Blend"/"This scent is a must try!"/"SMT Blend" Thank you, scent description page. -.-

Date Received: March 7, 2016

Weight Melted: 1.0 oz

Location of Warmer: Living room, in tealight warmer

Cold Sniff: 4.5/5 A delectable blend of all of my favorite scents from Sniff My Tarts. Equal parts of all three, making this a very creamy, super sweet, slightly bakery scent.

Warm Sniff: 4.5/5 No real surprises while melting.

Scent Strength: 1/3

Scent Throw: 3/3 This filled the entire living room.

Melting Power: 4/5 I got about 6.5 hours from a quarter of this cookie.

Repurchase: Yes! Or at the very least, re-blend. I believe I have the individual scents in loaf/other form so I can blend me up some more of this delicious treat.

Beezy Tarts - Berry Splash

Scent Description: Plump Blueberries, Juicy Raspberries, Sweet Clementine, with notes of Loganberry, Cassis, Violet

Date Received: May 17, 2016

Weight Melted: 0.9 oz

Location of Warmer: Kitchen, in tealight warmer

Cold Sniff: 3/5 A berry medley with a very tart backdrop and a hint of something artificial, bringing to mind years of wearing children's makeup and playing dress up with my sister.

Warm Sniff: 3.5/5 That artificial note dies down considerably, but that really tart backdrop is still there.

Scent Strength: 2/3

Scent Throw: 3/3 This filled the entire kitchen/dining area, hallway, and office.

Melting Power: 3/5 I got about 4.5 hours of scent from half a tart cup before I replaced the scent.

Repurchase: Probably not. It was okay, but it didn't wow me or anything, and at times the tart note seemed to be too much for my nose. I might pick up another one just to round out an order or to use as a mixer, but I wouldn't make an order just for this scent.

Stop & Chat: July 7-9

Just accept that if I don't have a picture to include as part of my post, I'm going to pull something from my Ark: Survival Evolved screenshots and include it. Above is a Beelzebufo, or frog. It's good for gathering cementing paste, which is used to craft a lot of higher tier items. This one is purple and has a very appropriate name - Beefybutt. If I ever show you guys the names of our dinos, you will quickly realize that me and my entire family should never, ever name things. We're the kind of people that would get behind a name like Boaty McBoatFace as a name for a scientific research vessel. :)

Band of Bloggers - Vol. 7/July 2016

Summer 2016 is officially here for all of us in the Northern Hemisphere! Longer days, abundant sunshine, warm weather and fun activities will hopefully keep us busy and happy during the months ahead.

This month the Band Of Bloggers will be sharing their favorite summer memory or tradition as well as the one scent or blend that we most associate with summertime.

So many memories come rushing in with the phrase "favorite summer memory." I have diary entries from 'super secret' spy missions I went on with my sister... spying on our brother while he played with his friends. We even had walkie talkies to communicate what we were seeing. How dare he play Dinosaur without us!! I remember playing video games and connecting with people across the world, growing up with them, many of which I'm still in contact with today. I remember while we lived in New York taking a trip every single summer to stay with my grandparents for a month in New Mexico. That month of each year was spent playing in the mountainous forests with the rest of the family, running through all 3 floors of the house, and the freshness to the air and life around us. I remember discovering M's love of disc golf and watching him flourish under the tutelage of our coworkers and friends, eventually getting two Aces before said tutors had even gotten their first. Really my favorite memories are moments that shaped who I am today and continue to shine through the years at my psyche.

One scent that I always associate with summertime is coconut, especially the kind most vendors use in wax. It reminds me of countless layers of sun screen applied to our skins while we were out in the back yard with our sprinkler, or at the pool with friends, or at the beach with family, or at any number of amusement park visits that splatter the pages of my childhood. Summer may not be my favorite season, but it definitely has some of my favorite memories. <3

Stop & Chat: July 6

Today was a fun day! While M was heading home, he found a lost looking couple near post and offered to help them. Turns out this was another soldier in M's company. Because M was already helping them, he got assigned as their sponsor, which basically means he's the one they go to if they have any questions about... well, anything and everything related to their stay here in Korea.

Rosegirls - Kiwi Cucumber Splash

Scent Description: Juicy kiwi, fresh cucumber

Date Received: April 24, 2016

Weight Melted: 0.6 oz

Location of Warmer: Kitchen, in tealight warmer

Cold Sniff: 4/5 Sweet and juicy kiwi. Very fresh cucumber. A fruity mix that lifts the spirits and brightens the day.

Warm Sniff: 4/5 No surprises here. Just the same delicious blend.

Scent Strength: 1.5/3

Scent Throw: 3/3 This filled the entire kitchen/dining area, hallway, and office.

Melting Power: 4/5 I got about 6 and a half hours of scent from half a chunk.

Repurchase: Definitely a yes! I've been on a roll with the scents I've enjoyed. I think that I finally know the scents I like and vendors who have good performance for me.

Stop & Chat: July 1-5

Does the background for this picture seem a little... out of season? It should, because it was taken in December. LOL. I'm really wanting the weather to cool down, partially so the house isn't so unbearable and partially because I'm craving fall and winter scents. Bad Liz! The wax above is by Dessa's Homespun Scents and is her Lavender Vanilla scent.

I wasn't going to write about my weekend because I didn't take any pictures. After thinking about it, I realized that I'm absolutely silly for thinking such a thing. This blog isn't just to take you guys along with me, it's to document my time here in Korea - and documenting doesn't always mean take pictures! Not to mention my weekend was actually pretty jam-packed! So without further ado, here comes a wall of text for those of you who actually read my posts as opposed to just looking at pictures. =P I'm not offended if you prefer pictures, I used to be like that too!

Lasting Scent Candles - Lavender Mallow Bread

Scent Description: Lavender, marshmallow, bread.

Date Received: April 8, 2016

Weight Melted: 0.8 oz

Location of Warmer: Kitchen, in tealight warmer

Cold Sniff: 3/5 Sweet lavender mixed with marshmallows and a creamy bread that hints at zucchini bread. Uh oh...

Warm Sniff: 5/5 No tortilla chip note! I'm not sure if the bread is actually zucchini bread, but it turned out nice and creamy and delicious alongside the lavender!

Scent Strength: 2/3

Scent Throw: 3/3 This filled the entire kitchen/dining area, hallway, and office.

Melting Power: 5/5 I got about 8.5 hours from half of a tart cup.

Repurchase: Yes! This was yet another delicious blend from LSC. I'm glad to see that this wax is performing so well, because this was some of the most expensive stuff I've bought. I've already mentioned that I quite enjoy these blends, but I'm going to point it out again. :)
