Blogmas 2016 - December 6-8: Anniversary!

Okay, I'll admit. I had nothing to really write about for the past few days. I don't think you guys care for my rants about the anime we're watching, Parasyte. That show manages to reel me in and yet irk me to no end. It's turned itself into a soap opera and I'm about ready to drop it without bothering to finish the series.

The 7th was a special day for Michael and I. It marks 9 years that we've been together. It was a special enough occasion that Michael bought some flowers on his way home from PT. We don't normally make a big deal of anniversaries, birthdays, or commercialized holidays that pressure society into spending lots of money on their significant other to symbolize their eternal love (what? No, I'm not jaded). Michael hasn't bought me flowers for six years, so for him to buy me some was a pretty big deal. He unfortunately worked the 7th and 8th so we haven't been able to do anything together besides eat and watch some TV in the evening.

I received two packages earlier this week. One, from Satin Suzie Scents. The other is the first of two packages from my parents. We're still waiting on the second one. I'm also tracking some Black Friday/Cyber Monday packages and the four packages we sent to the States a week ago. Basically my USPS tracking page is full of activity and my brain hurts from figuring out which package is which.

I'm slowly finishing with our holiday decorations. Every day I throw on some Christmas music and put up a few more decorations. I also am trying to get the house organized again. In the weeks since Thanksgiving we've had to dig through several drawers and the chaos is contributing to my decorating blocks. The good news is I'm making progress!

Okay, that's it for my lazy update. LOL! I hope to work on some blog posts today so I can keep the blog away from another 3-day rut.

  1. Happy Society Pressured Commercialized Holiday! Seriously though, happy anniversary. It's nice to see people staying together these days. May you have 90 more. =)

My past few days have been pretty dull blog-wise too. But I gotta keep at it. I've cheated on too many already this Blogmas!

    1. I couldn't bring myself to write my Blogmas post the past few days. This December is really calm and boring compared to 2015.

      I can't believe it's already the 11th! 2 weeks until Christmas!

  2. Happy Anniversary! I love cyclamen! They are so pretty. They remind me of a plant I would spy on an enchanted forest floor. Glad things have been mellow for you! Your box will definitely be late. But think of it as a Happy New Year or non-commercial Friendship Box. :-)

    1. I have the plant sitting next to me on the desk so whenever I look at it I can smile!

I don't mind whenever your box comes in! It's the thought that counts! I just count myself a lucky person that you (and Deb!) see me as someone worth sending special holiday packages to!

  3. Oh man, I spend more hours than I care to contemplate at this time of year "managing" my orders and deliveries. I can't imagine what it must be like trying to navigate a different country's postal system ever, let alone at this time of year (on my end of things, Canada Post is kind of the worst. I swear they take delight in losing packages.)

    1. Tell me about it. The time zone differences between here and the states confuse me, too, because on my phone the date/time is based off of what my phone says, but on desktop the date/time is local, so sometimes I'll think something has been sitting at x post office for a day and a half when it's really only been a few hours.

I hear all sorts of bad things about Canada Post lately. I can't imagine how bad it must be for you right now. May your packages hit their (correct!) mark and arrive safely! :)
