Haul - Satin Suzie Scents Black Friday 2016

Better late than never, right? At least, that's what I keep telling myself. Anyway, here's my very belated Satin Suzie Scents haul! Around Black Friday, Bernadette offered themed samplers, each featuring 10 scent shots for $15. I decided to pick two up, and boy am I glad I did!
First up, the Christmas Morning sampler!

Pop's Pipe: Herbal & Smoky tobacco leaves blend well with touches of cherry wood, cedar, honey and vanilla beans. A warm reminder of grandpa.
Heavy on the cherry on cold sniff. There's a hint of something woody, but it's hard to pick out. Almost reminds me of scented bathroom soap from any generic mall in the US. 1.4 oz

Peppermint Noel: Cool, icy peppermint is warmed by vanilla bean noel.
The typical sweet peppermint blend any mint fan needs. Just enough of each note to keep my nose happy. 1.6 oz

Havana Mornings: Strong black Cuban coffee sweeten with brown sugar.
Sweet, black coffee. I'm surprised at how much I like this! We will have to see how it smells once I throw it in a warmer. 1.6 oz

Cinnamon Strudel: Warm sweet pastry strudel with vanilla and cinnamon sugar.
Sweet cinnamon pastries drizzled in icing. 1.5 oz

White Out: No description available.
I smell something woody. Cedar, maybe? It smells damp, like it's been overtaken by moss and remains in an eternally damp state. I'm quite interested in this one. 1.4 oz

Flannel Sheets: Fresh off the line flannel with notes of nearby light florals in the air.
A typical, light, clean scent. I could have used this when I cleaned the entire house yesterday! 1.5 oz

Iced Berries: Strawberries & raspberries frozen with a mixture of peppermint leaves and hints of creamy, cool vanilla.
Sweet berry explosion with just a hint of cool peppermint. Lacks the normal bite of peppermint because of the vanilla, which resulted in a lovely blend! 1.5 oz

Christmas Eve: Spicy fragrances coming from the kitchen, pine notes from the tree and wreaths and a woodsy, warm fragrance from the fire.
The strongest note is spicy wood, with just a hint of something citrusy (probably from the pine). In the background, slight nutmeg and cinnamon dance around. 1.4 oz

Roasted Chestnuts: No description available.
It's hard to figure this one out. First and foremost, I pick up a lot of generic wax, almost like the vanilla/cake blends that end up dying out once melted. There is a hint of something nutty, reminiscent of certain coffee blends. On the exhale I pick up a bit of butter. 1.5 oz

Christmas Cedar: No description available.
A medley of woody scents A hint of orange peaks its head out behind it all. 1.5 oz

That's it for the Christmas Morning sampler. On to Celebrate Christmas!

Oh Sugar! Cookie: Sugar cookies right out of the oven, notes of sugar, butter and buttercream.
A pleasantly sweet and creamy sugar cookie mixture. Think VBN with creamy bakery. 1.6 oz

Cranberry Festival: A scrumptious blend of tart cranberries, oranges, apples and the perfect touch of spices.
The scent description pretty much covers it. Sweet and berry-like cinnamon. Not for the faint of spicy hearts. 1.5 oz

Christmas Love: No description available.
Smoky campfire with a hint of sweet marshmallows. I have no idea what the scent notes are for this fragrance, so I could be completely off. In any case, I like it! 1.5 oz

Berry Bellini: No description available.
This smells familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Lots of cranberries and just a hint of pear somewhere in there. 1.6 oz

Oh Christmas Tree: No description available.
A sweetly delectable take on a Christmas Tree scent. You know me and sweets - I need my dentist on speed dial. 1.4 oz

Winter Woods: No description available.
There is definitely some sandalwood in here. Add in something sweet and musky and you have this blend. 1.5 oz

Frosty Pomegranate: No description available.
Minty vanilla and sweet pomegranates. Simple but gorgeous. 1.5 oz

Snow Day: No description available.
A very woody-minty scent. Hard to pinpoint everything, but it's a very winter appropriate scent. 1.5 oz

Nutmeg & Ginger: Freshly grounded spicy nutmeg and bold ginger meet in this wax to create a heartwarming, welcoming scent.
Gingerbread cookies with a little extra nutmeg. Yet again I find myself craving the snowy under-mountain city of Ironforge. 1.5 oz

Pumpkin Nog: No description available.
Spicy, creamy pumpkins mixed with what I can only assume is eggnog. The cinnamon leans sweet and the pumpkin leans delicious. 1.5 oz

That's it for the wax I bought. Bernadette sent some samples, though, so we're not done yet. I forgot to take a group picture, so each sample gets its own glamour shot.

Jessica Rabbit: Strawberries, pound cake & creamy filled twinkies.
Sweet, ever so slightly tart strawberries mixed with creamy cake and even sweeter twinkies. 0.7 oz

JoJo's Happy Day: It's J's day with coconut, oranges, marshmallows and cake. It's why he's happy :)
Orange creamsicle comes to mind. The coconut is very muted, but it helps prevent an overly sweet tone to the blend. 0.5 oz

Butter Cup: A buttery cookie scent with hints of gingerbread.
I think I have my fill of gingerbread cookie scents now. This one is slightly more buttery than other blends. 1.4 oz

Time for the price breakdown!
Total Before Shipping:$30.00
Total After Shipping: $37.00
Total Wax Received: 32.6 oz
Freebies Received: 2.6 oz (included in total wax received)
Price/Ounce without shipping: 92¢/ounce
Price/Ounce with shipping: $1.13/ounce

I'm incredibly happy with the wax I picked up. I'd be lying if I said all of this is going to sit in my Christmas drawer until next year. I'm in denial about the season ending, plus some of these scents aren't necessarily winter only.

While it may be too late to pick up these samplers, Bernadette is currently offering her Valentine's Day sampler with several price options. She ships insanely fast, so if you're looking for a quick wax fix she's a great way to go.
