Stop & Chat: Hamster Lids, Stickers, and FACE MASKS!!

Remember when I said I was done buying plants? That all but my heartiest of hearty snake plants liked dying off and I was tired of wasting money on them? Yeeeah.

M went to the Garden 5 the other day and sent some pictures of the plants they had. I couldn't resist asking him to pick up a few. I've been craving more life in the house. Plant life, that is. We have more than enough animal life going on currently. LOL

Stop & Chat: Hamster Snacks

This is a shorter post, but I wanted to share this very small but incredibly rewarding project: homemade hamster treats!

The hamsters have settled into their new homes swimmingly. I've reached a bit of a bump in their hamster-lid making adventure because we do not have some of the tools required and they were not on post like we'd hoped. Amazon, it is!

Sniff My Tarts - Whipped Cream/Watermelon Cake

Scent Description:  Delicious, fluffy whipped cream with hints of whipped churned butter, blonde sugar cane, Madagascar vanilla, and vanilla extract/Fresh sliced Watermon and rich decadent cake.

Date Reviewed: December 27, 2016

Weight Melted: 0.9 oz

Location of Warmer: Living room, in tealight warmer

Cold Sniff: 5/5 Deliciously juicy watermelons smothered in whipped cream and used as icing for a creamy cake.

Warm Sniff: 5/5 No real surprises once melted. At the very end of the melt the watermelon took on an artificial note.

Scent Strength: 2/3

Scent Throw: >3/3 This filled the living room, hallway, kitchen/dining area, and entryway.

Melting Power: 4/5 The 6 hour mark is when the watermelon took on an artificial plastic note and I dumped the wax.

Repurchase: Yup! Though I have a major lesson to learn: never leave coffee in the main room this wax is melting in. My cup of coffee tasted and smelled like waxy watermelon cake. Did I still drink it all? Yup. Do I regret it. Super yup. I needed a week long break from that specific coffee before I could smell it without reliving the watermelon-wax taste. LOL

Band of Bloggers: April 2017 - Volume 15

It's that time of year again! As the warmer weather soothes stiff joints and brushes off the last vestiges of winter, homes beg for the same fresh start everyone promised themselves at the beginning of the year. Clothes are donated, rooms are scrubbed, and yards are tended. While the fauna leave their winter dens or return from long migrations, the world blooms with new growth in vibrant splashes of color.

For April's Band of Bloggers post, we will answer a few questions about Spring and the ever-loved Spring Cleaning. Feel free to join in and answer these questions in the comments below!

Do you decorate for Spring?
I don't normally, but it's not because I don't want to. I'm a frugal person, and up until Korea I had about 0% interest in my home decor. Give me the cheapest thing that has a function and I'm good.
I probably won't decorate for this Spring season, but when all the themed decor goes on sale I hope to stock up for future seasons.

Are there any products you find yourself reaching for as the weather warms? This can be anything; food, clothing, bath and body, wax, you name it!
Bath and Body Works Country Chic is synonymous with Spring to me. My freshman year of college I had a roommate who liberally applied this fragrance every morning come Spring semester. The scent eventually grew on me and now I can't go through the season without lightly using the scent.
I reach for lavender scented products more. I know, lavender is pretty much an all-the-time kind of scent for me, but it's possible I can reach for it more! Herbal lavender heavily reminds me of M's time at basic, and even though I had a lot of hard times there it's a pleasant reminder of all the growth I went through while he was gone.

Do you participate in the Spring Cleaning craze?
Yup. Whether I want to or not I tend to clean more around this time of year. The communities I live in help encourage spring cleaning by offering community yard sales, swaps, and all other "get rid of your stuff" gatherings.
In Korea, yellow dust season starts around spring and it becomes exceptionally important to keep our home as clean as possible. I find it's easier to maintenance clean every day instead of waiting for dirt to pile up and mass clean every other week. The cleanliness helps us sleep better and the constant movement in order to sweep and mop helps keep an active lifestyle on days where the air quality makes physical activity less than ideal.

Stop & Chat: Birthday Celebrations

I'm 24. On one hand, it feels old. On the other, I'm still the baby of all of my friend groups.Yes, I know, it's not actually old, but it's the oldest I've ever been (har har, I so funny) so a new age will always feel "old" on me.

M worked on my birthday, but he was off for the three days leading up to it. You know what that means - Spoil Liz Time!

Stop & Chat: The Too Much Gene

Hi, my name is Liz and I have the Too Much Gene.

I do not know what it means to dip my toes in to anything. It takes me a long time to finally jump into something, yes. But once I finally take that jump it's as if I don't know what self restraint means. I've talked about this several times before, but I feel like it stands to be mentioned again. Especially with the absolute novel of a post I have incoming.

So. Where have I been?
